And you may not be able to upgrade in all giveaways, you should upgrade whenever you can. You can also look for jv partners willing to split their lists while your list is growing and use that mechanism to grow your list. Just remember to hang in there, it won't happen overnight, as there is no 'silver bullet'... no matter what the sales copy migh tsay... but if you keep at it, it will happen, and you will have a good list that generates income streams for you. You should try to upgrade in the giveaways to keep your gifts on the list, but if you can't upgrade, get your gift in the giveaway and get a few subscribers on your list. Get in the giveaway as soon as you hear about it. The earlier you get your gift listed, the more people will see it, because when the contributor sign up they look around as well. So start with baby steps, get 10 people on your list. And then when you sign up for the next giveaway, promote that giveaway to your list for contributors. And you may get a few points, and 10 more subscribers. My first giveaway I got less than 50 subscribers, but after that giveaway I had a list that I didn't have before that. Now my list keeps growing. The most important thing is to get started. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be. Nobody will sign up for your list from the giveaway you don't participate in.
